David McCrone
David Francis McCrone, 66, of Westlake (formerly Rocky River), went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born October 31, 1951 to parents John F. and Marguerite McCrone. David attended St. Bernadette's for grade school, 2 years of High School at St. Ed's, then finished at Rocky River High School where he loved playing football. At age 19, David was the youngest person to run for Rocky River City Council. David studied Real Estate Finance at OSU, where he became a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He was also a Page for the State House of Representatives where he met his wife, Melanie of 40 years. After college, David worked as a bank examiner for the Department of Commerce before going into Building and Real Estate. He was passionate about history, politics, OSU football and most importantly his family. David was an active member of Bay Presbyterian Church, serving as an auditor, and loved hosting members of the youth group for activities. He enjoyed taking camping trips with his family in their Winnebago. David was also involved in community activities such as the YMCA Indian Princesses and Indian Guides programs with his children for 12 years, Westlake Town Criers and the Cleveland Civil War Roundtable. David so enjoyed his many friends and relatives, Bretton Woods neighbors, Dinner Club friends, and members of his church community group. David is survived by his wife Melanie; children Morgan Heberle (John), Jordan McCrone, Tara Brown (Peter) and Courtney McCrone. David is preceded in death by his parents John F. and Marguerite McCrone and his brother Thomas P. McCrone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Bay Presbyterian Church 25415 Lake Rd, Bay Village, OH 44140 or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve 17876 St. Clair Ave. Cleveland, OH 44110. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, January 18th. Services will be held Friday, January 19th at 11am at Bay Presbyterian Church, Bay Village, OH.
