Ethel Haner
Ethel M. Haner (nee Nielsen), 89, of Rocky River, Ohio passed away Friday, December 21, 2018. Ethel was born on June 28, 1929, to the late Niels and Dorothy Nielsen in Erie, Pa. Ethel was raised in Erie, Pa., moved to the Cleveland area around 1943 and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1947. She was very social and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, celebrating the holidays, going on road trips, spending time in the Metro Parks, and visiting her home in Highland Beach, Florida. She was a proud grandmother and long-term resident of Rocky River. She had a passion for animals, especially for her cats Whitey and Brownie. Ethel owned and managed her own greetings/marketing business, Person to Person, from 1969 to 1995. She will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are her children Karen Huddle (Gregg) of Avon Lake, OH and Ron Haner of Erie, PA; grandchildren Matt (Rebecca), Michael, Aaron (Jennifer), Chelsea (Miguel), and Erika; and many great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death; husband, Lambert Haner of 55 years, and son, Eric Haner. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113. Friends may call Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at BUSCH FUNERAL HOME 21369 CENTER RIDGE RD., FAIRVIEW PARK, OH 44116. A service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
