Freda M. Miller
Freda M. Miller, Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Freda Mae Miller (85) died on July 25, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father, Sherman Parks and mother, Della Parks, both of Smithville, WV. Freda is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, William (Bill) Miller; her son Douglas Miller of Sacramento, CA, and his wife Michelle and their sons, Aaron, Nathan and Benjamin; her daughter Diana Peterson of Cypress, TX, her husband David and their daughter Lindsey and their son Bradley; and her son David, his wife Michelle and their daughters McKenzie and Madison. Born in Smithville, West Virginia on January 17, 1933, Freda graduated from Harrisville High School in 1950. She studied music at Ohio University, worked in New York for one summer and then relocated to Clarksburg, West Virginia, accepting a position with the newspaper, Exponent-Telegram. She met Bill in 1953. They were married in 1954 and moved to Morgantown, WV where Bill attended WVU. After graduation, they moved to Pittsburg, PA as Bill was employed in the steel industry. Business transfers moved the family first to Crown Point, IN in 1974, and then back to Pittsburgh in 1981. After Bill's retirement in 1985 he and Freda moved to Eustis, FL, then to Conroe, TX and finally to Venice, FL. Freda had a beautiful lyric soprano voice and sang in various church choirs, local theatre as well as with the Mendelssohn Chorus that performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony. She loved playing golf and had the excitement of a hole-in-one in 1996. She also enjoyed bridge, various community activities and driving her Cabriolet convertible.
