Franklyn H. Arndt York - Franklyn H. "Frank" Arndt, 87, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at York Hospital. Mr. Arndt was born in York, Sunday, January 17, 1932, son of the late Wilbur H. and Grace H. (Osborne) Arndt. Frank was a member of the former Otterbein United Methodist Church, York. He was employed for Glen L. Martin of Baltimore as a machinist, B and B Garage in Dover as a mechanic, and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1989. He loved helping his family, enjoyed restoring antique cars, machine shop work and working on locomotives, he could fix anything. He was an avid reader of Civil War books. He was a member of the Williams Grove Historic Steam Engine Association. Survivors include three siblings, Wilberetta P. Gibbs of Stewartstown, Bonnie K. Slagle and her husband, Larry of Spring Grove, and Gerald S. Arndt and his wife, Leah of Dallastown; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Patricia A. Shull, Shirley E. Pilkerton, and Wilbur Eugene Arndt. Funeral service will be held 11am, Friday, August 9, 2019 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be Bishop Barry Yingling. There will be a viewing from 10-11am, prior to the service at the funeral home. Final resting will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the York County SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
