Frank A. "Mink" Fera
Frank A. "Mink" Fera 1931 - 2018 VERONA - Frank A. "Mink" Fera, 86, Beacon Light Road, died late Friday evening, September 7, 2018, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a medical patient for the past two days. Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 19, 1931, he was the son of Frank and Theresa Fura Fera. A resident of the area since the age of five, Mink was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1949 and following high school, served with the United States Navy, during the Korean War, aboard the USS Blenny submarine and was a naval diver. He married Eva "Sue" McKay in St. Patrick's Church, Oneida, on November 5, 1955. Prior to his retirement, Mink was the President of Frank A. Fera, Inc. He was a past president of both the John D. George PTA and the VVS Booster Club, a member and past trustee of the Oneida Elks, Lodge 767 and a member of the Sherrill Rotary Club, where he was a past president, a Paul Harris Fellow and was involved with the scholarship committee and was co-chairman of fundraising for the VVS football program. Mink was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Surviving besides his wife, Sue, are one daughter, Mary C. Rebeck of Oneida; one son and daughter-in-law, Louis A. "Andy" and Kim Fera of Verona; three grandchildren, Amy Wyzykiewicz, Amanda Rebeck and Andrew A. Fera; six great-grandchildren, Hanna, Tessa, Alissa, Bella, Cora and Jeffery; one sister, Barbara Dolci of Canastota; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Magnanti; and two brothers, Louis Fera, who died during World War II, and Albert Fera. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, from St. Joseph's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Richard Kapral, Pastor. Interment, with full Military Honors, will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida on Thursday, from 3-7 PM.
