Frances L. Scott Carter Goodlettsville - Frances L. Scott Carter, age 89, of Goodlettsville, TN, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Claudia Thomas; two sisters, Elizabeth Helms, Ann Helms. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Clarence Carter; two sons, Michael E. Murphy (Vickie), Robert Murphy Jr. (Geri); one brother, Alvin Scott (Carol); one sister, Jean Anderson; six grandchildren, Brandy Allen (Brad), Tony Carter, Cody Carter, Brittany Carter, Amber Gather, Heather Spurlock; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Carter, Kayla Spurlock, Keelye Gather, Zane Gather, Payton Gather; a host of extended family and friends. Frances was a very patient and kindhearted woman. She cared for all those around her including animals. She loved to dance and listen to music. She was a 1951 graduate of Isaac Litton High School where she was a star basketball player. After her high school years she went on to become a seamstress at JC Penny's and also designed and made all the costumes for the Hee Haw television show. Above all she was a incredible wife and mother to everyone. She will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. Visitation for Frances will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4 PM until 8 PM and again on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from Noon until 2 PM at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216. Entombment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, a Nashville landmark since 1785 "Where Nashville Comes to Remember"
