Frances (Wright) Burge
Frances Burge (Wright), 102, of Middletown, Delaware passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018. Born on June 14, 1916, she was a lifelong resident of Middletown. Frances attended a one room school house, Mt. Pleasant School #99. She graduated from Goldey College. Frances was employed by the Dupont Company where she was promoted to executive secretary to the comptroller. Later she and her husband, Weldon Burge, owned and operated Weldon's Flower Shop in Middletown. Frances was beloved by family and friends. She had a cute sense of humor, ready smile and a deep appreciation for friends, family and life. Frances was predeceased by her husband, Weldon, the love of her life; brother, Kenneth Wright; sister, Virginia Wright Palmer; nephew, William Wright and great nephew, Bryan Toth. She is survived by four nieces, Nancy Wright, Marilyn Wright, Judy Palmer Toth and Nina Palmer Wolff and great-great nephews, Samuel Toth and Benjamin Toth. Frances remained acutely alert until her death. Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Middletown. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Grace Presbyterian Church, 13 Pennington St., Middletown, DE 19709 where she was a member for 68 years or to a charity of choice.
