Evona Ann Vliet BETHLEHEM Evona Ann Vliet, 92, of Bethlehem, formerly of Shimer Manor in Pohatcong Twp., NJ, passed away on June 3, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born on March 8, 1926, in Bloomsbury, NJ, Evona was the daughter of the late Raymond and Iva Lee Wieder. Her husband, Freeman Hughes Vliet, passed away in 2013. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage at the time of his death. Evona was employed as a nurse with Easton and Warren Hospitals for many years. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1944, enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II, then graduated from the Easton Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. Evona was a life member of Easton Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Assoc., a life member of The Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the former Harker's Hollow Golf Club. Surviving are her daughters, Judith V. Beidelman and her husband, Raymond, and Lori R. Vliet, all of Bethlehem, Pa. Evona's family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care that was given to their mother by her many caregivers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. at The Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 17 Greenwich Church Rd., Greenwich Twp., NJ. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery. A calling hour will be held at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The Finegan Funeral Home, Phillipsburg, is handling the arrangements.
