Ernest E. Harley, age 89 of Bath, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at VA Hospital in Bath, NY. Ernie was born on June 19, 1929 in Washingtonville, Ohio to Henry and Amy (Grady) Harley. He married Norma Jean Travis March 2, 1957 in Savona, NY and was predeceased by her on September 8, 1985. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a mechanic with the 7th Division 17th Infantry regiment combat unit. Ernie enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. His carpentry skills helped lead him to Orlando Fla. In Orlando he worked on various projects at Disney World, Sea World and the Altamonte, Mall. He relocated to NY after his wife's passing. There he worked for Wilkins RV and Pro Action in Bath where he retired at age 85. He is survived by his daughter, Rose (Wayne Crews) of Groveland, Fla; daughter, Amy (Elton Badeau) of Bath, NY; son, Ernest (Pam) Harley of Green Bay, WI; daughter, Bonnie (Wayne Marina) of Ferndale, NY; daughter, Janice Harley of Leesburg, Fla; daughter, Nancy Harley of Windermere, Fla; grandchildren, Jeannie (Denise Johnson); Paula Crews; Amber (Dane Denmon); Cory (Holly) Badeau, Joy Harley, Evan Harley, David Setzer, Ashley Setzer, Stephanie Harley, Miranda (Chris Hickman) and several great grandchildren. Ernie's Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday September 6, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Towelsville Cemetery with Shirley O'Brochta Officiating. A gathering will be held after at the Howard Community Center 7481 Hopkins Road, Howard, NY. Memorials maybe made in Ernie's name to St Jude 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org. Arrangements are being handled by Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath.
