Elizabeth Mireski Casey, 88, of Dunmore, passed away Friday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Casey. Born in Madisonville, daughter of the late Vincent and Anastasia Mireski, she was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore. She was a 1949 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and worked as a dental assistant for many years. She was a diehard Penn State football and Villanova basketball fan. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. The family thanks Dan and Penny from Allied Hospice for their gentle, loving care. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Tom and wife, Dileen Casey, Tunkhannock; Diana Casey, Dunmore; Monita and husband, Bill Haduch, Branchburg, N.J.; Eileen and husband, George Caswell, Kennett Square; Elizabeth and husband, Stan Zygmunt, Moscow; and Edmund Casey, Dunmore; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Krisnosky and Matthew Casey; Christopher, George and Tom Caswell; Will and Casey Haduch; Alex Zygmunt and Stacey Mooney; and Patrick, Michael and Joe Casey; and great-grandson, Kemp Caswell. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Casey; a great-granddaughter, Clara Krisnosky; three brothers, Thomas and Raymond Drost, and Robert Mireski; and a sister, Jean Kroll. The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
