Edward R Zanck, 98, Venice, died June 28, 2018, at Brookdale Venice Island. Ed was born in Chicago and moved to Venice 22 years ago. He retired from Western Electric after 35 years. During WW II, he was a Corporal in the Army, serving the European African Middle Eastern Theater. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances. He is survived by his son, Bertrand (Jill) and daughter, Marilyn (Doug) Booth as well as his 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Zanck, Jake (Amy) Zanck, Jenna (Brooks) Hayes, and Tawny (Joey) Thacker and his seven great-grandchildren, Lili, Gavin, Haley, Arlo, Jake, Beckett, and Charlie. He loved fishing, golf, and was well known around Venice for his singing, dancing, and wearing dapper hats. Memorial Donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.
