On Friday, December 21, 2018, Eddie James Betts of Pascagoula, MS was called home to be with the Lord. He was born on October 15, 1925 in Burnt Corn, AL to the late John Randall and Lewey Betts. Eddie, known as "Buddy" to his friends and family was loved by everyone. He met his beautiful wife Drucilla and married in 1942. Eddie had nine children; Cleo, James, Willie, Shirley, Maggie, Geraldine, Larry, Janet and Danny. He was a devoted and giving father and grandfather. He especially loved the holidays and was a hard worker and entrepreneur. He worked for International Paper and retired after 43 years, all while working at Stallworth Furniture for over 17 years. He later went on to open his own carpet business. Eddie was so generous to all who knew him. He cherished the time with his family and loved to entertain people at his home. Eddie leaves to cherish his wife Drucilla Betts, eight children, Cleo Chatman, Gig Harbor, WA, James Betts, Atlanta, GA, Willie Betts, Lawrenceville, GA, Shirley Hawthorne, Monroeville, AL, Maggie Ward, Plano, TX, Geraldine Johnson, Moss Point, MS, Larry Betts, Helena, MS, and Janet Jackson, Shreveport, LA, 25 grandchildren, numerous great and great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Lee Brown, Burnt Corn, AL and many nieces and nephew. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Living God CWFF, Pascagoula, MS. Viewing will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 PM funeral hour.
