ED MURRAY March 6, 1924 ~ February 18, 2017 Ed Murray, 92, of Vancouver, WA, passed away Feb. 18, 2017. He was born and raised in Ridgefield, WA. After graduation, Ed joined the Army and served in China, Burma and India. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Tetz after WWII and moved to Vancouver, where they had two children, Linda and Craig. Upon Helen's death, Ed met and married Janet Edwards. He was a machinist for Washington State Highway Department where he retired after 30 years of service. Ed was active as a volunteer fireman for Hazel Dell Volunteer Dept. of the Clark County Fire District 6. Ed is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet Murray; daughter, Linda Smith; son, Craig Murray; step-son, Blake Edwards; step-daughter, Karla Edwards; 8 grandchildren, Kristin Owens, Gary Heck, Sean and Kevin Murray, Chante, Michael, Samantha and Amanda Edwards; and 5 great-grandchildren, Aston and Greyson Owens, Shalyn Kaster, Trinity Heck and Robert Heck. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Murray; brother, James "Bud" Murray; and sister, Helen Livingston. Special thanks to Kaiser Permanente, Kaiser Hospice and Comfort Keepers for taking such good care of Ed. A memorial service will be held Sat., Feb. 25, 2017, 12:30 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel.
