DOROTHY F. HOWES
died on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 at age 85 surrounded by loved ones at her side. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy B. Park and Leslie A. Foust, Ph.D., and the wife of her late husband of 65 years, Benedict W. Howes. Dorothy was born and raised in Washington, PA; attended college at Thiel and Wooster; and moved to Willoughby Hills, Ohio upon her marriage in 1952. Dorothy will be remembered for her love of reading, travel, crossword puzzles and rose gardening. Predeceased by her sister (Carolyn E. Gunsalus, Ph.D.); she is survived by her sister Lois Oppermann (Robert), devoted children, Dorothy Ann (Jane) Lindmark (Donald, deceased) and Benedict W. Howes (Laurel). She will be missed by her five grandchildren, Kendra Howley (Mike), Christopher Cunningham (Tasha), Peter Lindmark, LeAnn Foulkrod and David Burgett (Jillian); nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A requiem memorial Eucharist will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 435 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Village, OH directly followed by a committal of ashes in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Bartholomew Church or the charity of your choice.
