In memory of
Dorothy E. Battle
Dorothy E. Battle, 72, of Scranton, peacefully passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Nov. 21. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph G. Battle, on July 4, 2019. They had spent 37 beautiful years together. Dorothy was unapologetically herself every day of her life. She taught us to be kind, honest, easygoing and strong. It is safe to say that she has left an impact on this world that is immeasurable. We will admire and miss her the rest of our lives. She had a commendable work ethic and life energy. She worked at Regional Hospital for nearly 25 years and took great pride in her work. She had countless friends there throughout the years that were very special to her. Dorothy was truly an incredible force. She could be found cracking jokes, dancing, laughing and speaking her mind. She enjoyed music, the casino, football and baseball, game shows and spending time with her family, friends and granddogs. She is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life, "her Joe," as well as with other loved ones who had passed before her. We know they welcomed her with comfort and open arms. Her family was the center of her world. She was fun, supportive, compassionate, understanding and loyal beyond compare. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Michelle Rogan and husband, Mike; son, Frank Zaffino and wife, Simba; son, Sean Zaffino and wife, Casey; and daughter, Connie Zaffino. She is also survived by her beloved grandkids, Amanda (Mandy), Melissa, Gavin and Robert Eric. Dorothy had a special bond with Amanda after living together for many years. They were best friends and partners in crime. Their bond will remain irreplaceable. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, Pa. Wearing of masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hackerman-Patz House, located at 1260 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, PA 18104.
