Don H. Anthony, 67, of Weatherly passed away suddenly Jan. 10 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. Don was a wonderful husband, father, Pop-Pop, friend and coworker. He was a longtime skillful and dedicated heavy equipment and shovel operator for the coal industry. He was employed by Beltrami Industries, Hazleton Shaft Corp. and recently at Atlantic Carbon Group. In addition to his many successes, Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father, George; stepmother, Gladys; brother, Tom; and loving pet, Tess. Surviving are his loving wife of 28 years, Elizabeth (Kanyak) Anthony; mother, Marion (Solt) Anthony Zipp, Mansfield; son, Don Jr. and his wife, Katie; and his precious granddaughter, Grace, Mansfield. Also surviving are his sisters, Shirley Keifer and husband, Ernie, Philadelphia; Nancy Reeder and husband, Craig, California; Brenda Sosar, Freeland; LeAnne Sarson and husband, Kenny, Bethlehem; brother, Jimmy and wife, Michele, Florida; and brother-in-law, Joseph Kanyak, Highland. Don will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved pets, Riley and Addy. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at McNulty Funeral Home, 494 E. Butler Drive, Freeland. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only family and close friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA, P.O.
