David D. "Payday" Thedford Jr.
Thedford Jr., David D. "Payday" Age 64, a former resident of Gary, IN, residing in Lithonia, GA, entered into Paradise Tuesday, July 15, 2014, peacefully in his home. He was an employee of Georgia Piedmont Technical College and a graduate of Froebel High School class of 1969. He also served his country in the Marine Corps (Vietnam War). He was a former member of New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and baptized under the leadership of Rev. W. N. Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenora and David D. Thedford Sr.; oldest daughter, Dominique D. Thedford; sister, Gwendolyn Thedford; nephew, Michael Thedford Sr.; paternal grandparents, Beretta and Shephard Nailer and Lucy and Henry Thedford. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving wife of 31 years, Kimberly (Armstrong) Thedford; 1 son, Cory (Rosalinde) Armstrong; 1 awesome and spoiled daughter, NyKira Thedford; 1 dedicated grandson, Elijah J. Thedford, all currently residing in GA. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Clara Armstrong; 3 sisters, Davetta (Clifford) Lee, Rebecca Thedford of Lithonia, GA, Patricia Onyeka of Milwaukee, WI; 2 aunts, Katherlyn Thedford, Catherine Thedford; 4 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. Visitation Friday, July 25, 2014 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family hour Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. All services at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Rev. Steven Deloney Officiating. Burial will be private.
