Mr. David Alton Polk, age 77, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019. He was born November 1, 1941 in Boca Grande, Florida to Mary Alice Polk. Mr. Polk was a resident of Okaloosa County, Florida. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving his country in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service, before retiring. He went on to work for several years with the Okaloosa County Water and Sewer department. He enjoyed gardening and was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the guitar. Mr. Polk was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Polk is survived by his son, David Polk, Jr. and wife Sabrina; two daughters, Debbra Campbell and husband Jeff and Tina Ward and husband Dwayne; one sister, Jean Ann DeMag and husband Fred; one brother, Paul Houghton, Jr.; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, Florida 32508. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 220 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32547. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery, with Military Honors provived by the United States Air Force.
