Daniel A. 'Dan' Nagy NAZARETH Daniel A. "Dan" Nagy, 74, of Nazareth, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, in his home. He was the husband of Viola "Toni" (Anthony) Nagy. They would have celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage this April. Dan was born March 3, 1944, in Bath, PA. He was one of 13 children born to the parents of the late Emerick Nagy and late Marie (Fischl) Nagy. Daniel proudly earned his GED at the age of 55. He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel as a crane operator for 35 years until his retirement. After retirement, Dan enjoyed working for Lafayette Ambassador Bank as a courier. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth. He played softball for the Old Timer's League of Easton. When Dan could not be found spending time with his wife, he could be found at his grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed following NASCAR, The Phillies, and The Eagles. He loved music and had the best record collection imaginable. He was an avid gardener who loved spring and readying soil while teaching his grandsons the tricks of a successful crop. He was rooted deeply in his family and they were his life's greatest work. In addition to his wife, Daniel will be deeply missed by children, Sherry Sevi and husband, David of Nazareth; Terry Buck and husband, Randy of Stockertown, PA; Daniel Messinger and wife, Nicole of Bethlehem, PA; Tina Fehr and husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Michael, Codie, Tava, Dustin, David, Krystle, Jessica, Megan, Taylor, and Nicolino; six great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Colton, Sophia, Elizabeth, Annabelle and Blake; brother, Eugene Nagy; sisters, Linda McFarland, Elaine Johnson, Nancy Stannard, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Irene, Florence, Josephine, Marie; brothers, Frank, Richard, Earl, and Edward. The family will receive friends and family from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service, all on Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, PA 18064, with presiding Fr. Frank Natale. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
