CLYDE SAMPSON, of Mascotte passed away in his home on May 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Clyde was born in Guntersville, Alabama on April 9, 1939. He moved to Mascotte, Florida in 1959, where he met, fell in love and married his wife Betty (Brown) Sampson. They were married 57 years at his passing. Mr. Sampson was a pillar of the community and served the people of Lake County for decades as a city councilman, local little league baseball coach, and girls softball coach. He was a long standing and devoted member of the Mascotte Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty, sons, Gene (Colleen) Sampson of Mascotte, Larry (Cindy) Sampson of Woodstock, Alabama, daughter, Tammy Lindsey of Clermont, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
