Charles J. Schittone Devoted brother, uncle, and great-uncle Charles J.Schittone, 62, of Sayerville, N.J., passed away at home on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral at the Corsentino Home For Funerals, 620 Second Ave., corner of John St., Elizabeth, N.J., on Friday, Jan. 4, at 9:15 a.m., thence to St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Elizabeth, where, at 10:30 a.m., a Funeral Mass will be offered. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Entombment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, N.J. Charles was born in Ribera, Italy. In 1965, he came to Elizabeth, where he resided until moving to Sayerville in 1996. Charles was a business manager for Rutgers University for over 20 years before retiring in October of 2018. He enjoyed cooking, going to Broadway plays in New York City, and vacationing in Mexico. Most of all, he loved being with his family. A devoted brother, uncle, and great-uncle, Charles is survived by his loving brothers, Angelo Schittone and his wife, Cheryl, and Joseph Schittone and his wife, Angela; cherished nieces and nephews, Maryann and Martin Horvach, Luisa and Anthony Scaturro, Patricia and Shawn Vesturano, Daniel and Teresa Schittone, and Andrew Schittone and his fiancee, and great-nephews, Peter, Michael, and Thomas. Also surviving are many loving aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Charles was predeceased by his beloved parents, Paolo and Marianna (nee Genna) Schittone.
