Charles Bolton Sr.
Bowling Green — Charles Leonard Bolton, Sr., 85, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, died on May 17, 2018 in Bowling Green. Charles was born on January 14, 1933 in Claiborne County, Tennessee to Leonard and Mattie (Vannoy) Bolton, both preceding him in death. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Vanessa (Rollins) Bolton (m. 1955 until her death in1965) and his second wife, Laura Jean (Leonard) Bolton (m. 1967 until her death in 2014), two brothers, Cass Bolton and Carson Bolton, and by his nephew, Joseph Bolton. Charles is survived by his three sons, Charles Leonard "Chuck" Bolton, Jr. (Vincent) and Larry Louis Bolton (Sharon), both of Bowling Green, and Jeffery "Michael" Bolton (Hillary) of Roswell, Georgia, honorary daughter, Dawn "Betsy" Bolton of Bowling Green, 12 grandchildren, 7 grandchildren-in-law, and 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Edythe Speegle (Rob) of Paradise, California, and Helen Ruth Day of Altamonte Springs, Florida. Other survivors include his aunt, Anna Ruth (Vannoy) Bolton of Maryville, Tennessee, several beloved cousins, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Charles is also survived by his many friends, especially of the breakfast group he met with daily since 1968. These men were very dear to him and brought him much happiness. After Charles retired from his career in life insurance, he drove professionally for car dealerships in Bowling Green for over 20 years. He was a Baptist and a Mason. Charles had a deep love for his family and friends, and he will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 19, at Covenant Ministries Baptist Church, 634 Wakefield Street, in Bowling Green. Visitation will take place from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, May 18, at Covenant Ministries Baptist Church, followed by a Masonic Service at 8:00 pm. J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
