Hodges, Charlene Charlene "Char-z" L. Hodges of Harvard, Michigan, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. She was born to Peter and Marjorie (Barnaby) Israels on March 17, 1937, in Grand Rapids, MI. Char was a very flamboyant, caring, and fun lady that brought so much joy to everyone around her. She was a much beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Char and her husband Bill owned and operated the Harvard Tavern. Her cooking and welcoming personality was known far and wide. Char is survived by her loving children, Randy Willmer, Brent (Roni) Willmer, and Linda Sloan; grandchildren, Derek, Brandon, Tyler, Shane and Shelby; several great grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Jannereth and Tonia Israels; and lots of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly forty years, Bill; siblings, Todd Israels and Larry Israels; and both parents, Peter and Marjorie. There will be a time of memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019, at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. The memorial service for Char will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. following visitation.
