Cassandra Askew March 23, 2019 Cassandra "Coo-Coo" Y. Askew, 63, of Syracuse, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Saturday, March 22nd. She was born on January 14, 1956 in Syracuse and was employed by SUNY Upstate for 26 years, recently retiring. Cassandra was a member of Second Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, Willie Askew; and sister, Diadree Askew. Cassandra leaves to mourn her death, cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her mother, and best friend, Katye Askew of Syracuse; son, Charles (Tammy) Askew of Weedsport; daughters, Antria Agnew, Jaclyn Agnew, and Keanna Askew, all of Syracuse; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kyire, Ajaya, Kyanna, and Kyon; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Askew, Zina (Roosevelt) Chandler of Syracuse, and Paula Straughter of Baldwinsville; brothers, William, Glen, and Mark Askew, all of Syracuse, and Jon Mosley of Auburn, NY; aunts, Josephine Goldsmith of Syracuse, Bertha Bradforth, and Mary Dunn of Auburn, AL; one God-daughter, Deanna; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Calling hours: Friday, March 29th, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 12 p.m. at Second Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 818 S. West Street, Syracuse.
