Phyllis Rose Caponigro
Phyllis Rose Caponigro ROSETO Phyllis Rose Capone Caponigro, 87 of Roseto passed away January 11 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. Phyllis was born in Roseto on October 16, 1993, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Capone. She and her beloved husband Anthony G. Caponigro were married 64 years on September 8th. She was a 1951 graduate of Bangor High School and was part owner of Classic Casuals of Kunkletown and had worked as a bookkeeper at Windjammer INC of Bangor for many years. Phyllis was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Roseto where she was a member and past president of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Sodality and was the Queen of the Big Time in 1952 and a member of the church choir for over 50 years. She was secretary of the Church Belles and the Ladies A Bowling League and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 750 of Roseto. Phyllis was a devoted mother who loved to cook for her children. In addition to her husband Anthony, she is survived by her sons; Anthony and his wife Donna Caponigro of East Bangor, Gene of Easton, daughters; Leslie LaRose and her husband Terry of Roseto, Claudia Doyle and her husband Kevin of Mechanicsburg. Seven grandchildren; Ronce and his wife Susan, Brenna and her husband Brian, Tyler, Shana and David and his wife Makenna, Tara and Ryan Doyle. Six great grandchildren; Macsen, Ellie, Aidric, Bohdi, Mason and Chase and a brother Leroy Capone. She was predeceased by two sisters; Violet Pozzuto and Marie Decker. With Covid-19 restrictions of wearing a mask and social distancing there will be a private family viewing with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, January 15th in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Third & Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. Entombment will be in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Roseto.
