Family-Placed Death Notice EVERETT CLARK KUGLAR, MD Everett Clark Kuglar, MD, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Doctors Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons: Everett C., Jr., George E. "Eddie", William D. "Chip" Patterson; daughter: Alane Patterson Bowles; daughters-in-law: Lisa Kuglar, Cathy Kuglar, Karin Patterson; son-in-law: Ralph Bowles; grandsons: Conner West, Clint Kuglar, Jacob Kuglar, Michael Bowles; granddaughters: Brannon Patterson, Courtney Patterson, Emily Bowles, Annamarie Bowles; brother: Brantley Kuglar; sister-in-law: Shirley Kuglar and several nieces and nephews.Dr. Kuglar graduated and completed his psychiatric residency from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Kuglar was the first Administrator of Georgia Regional Hospital at Augusta and was Superintendent there until his retirement in 1990. He served as Medical Director of Binion Forensic Center at Center State Hospital in Milledgeville, Interim Superintendent, Georgia Mental Health Institute, and was Statewide Forensic Psychiatric Consultant; Army Surgeon General's Consultant for Teaching Programs, Psychiatric Consultant to U.S. Secret Service, Board Certified Forensic Psychiatrist and had a limited part-time private practice primarily in Forensic Psychiatry and following his retirement and was much in demand as a speaker for mental health over the state of Georgia. Dr. Kuglar served as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and as the Commander of the 382nd Field Hospital and went with his unit to Saudi Arabia where he was U.S. Military Commander at King Fahd National Guard Hospital during Operation Desert Storm.Funeral services for Dr. Kuglar will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Augusta. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, October 1, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
