LARRY LEROY MICHAEL
LARRY LEROY MICHAEL, 74, died on Wedensday, March 29, 2017, after suffering a massive stroke. Larry was a native of Versailles, Ohio, where he graduated from high school. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Earlham College in 1965 and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1968, as well as a Master of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1983. He was one of the "Pioneers" in the computer field, employed by National Cash Register Co., Lutheran Hospital, and Dana Corporation. He completed his career with an 18 year sojourn in Roanoke, Va., where he was employed in Data Processing by Norfolk Southern Railroad. He retired in 2013 and enjoyed golfing, traveling, and weekends in the RV. Larry was a faithful member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; and daughter, Cheryl (Michael Thurman) Michael. A son, Thomas, died at the age of 16. He also parented eight foster children. Service is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior. Dr. Stanley Possell and Pastor Steven K. Conner officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
