Jimmie D. Johnson Sr. "JJ" passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Anthony's Hospital. He retired from US Steel as a Vicing Foreman with 36 years of service. Jimmie was a Veteran of the US Navy. Member of Old Path Church Word from the Lord Ministry. He is preceded in death by parents James and Ruth Ann Johnson, sister Carolyn Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Hattie Johnson, 5 children Angie Harrell, Phelda "Pebbles" Johnson, Jimmie D. Johnson Jr., Jason D. (Natasha) Johnson, and Phelecia Lori Johnson; 2 brothers twin James Zell (Armor) Johnson, Uylsess (Jaqueline) Johnson; 3 sisters Blanchie Richardson, Shirley Lampley, and Dorothy Jennings; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 9 to 11am with funeral following at 11:00am at the Old Path Church Word From The Lord Ministry, 2075 Rush Place, Lake Station, IN. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
