In memory of
Mrs. Carolyn Shepherd 83, of Pascagoula, MS passed away on December 7, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born on September 29,1935 in Collins, MS. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pascagoula. Carolyn enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and cooking. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She enjoyed decorating and celebrating the holidays with family and friends. Christmas Eve celebration highlighted by her famous homemade Gumbo and divinity. She served as a duchess in various carnival balls in Jackson County and was Queen of the Pascagoula Country Club Carnival Ball in 1988. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents James Cranford of Baton Rouge and Mary Cranford of Hattiesburg, sister Joyce Cranford of Hattiesburg and brother Billy Cranford of Lucedale, her son-in-laws Bill Buckner of Pascagoula and Steve Snowden of Grand Bay. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 66 years James O. (Sonny) Shepherd. Daughters Debbie Snowden of Grand Bay and Alesia Buckner of Pascagoula. Sons Tim (Nita) Shepherd of Pascagoula, and Donald (Audrey) Shepherd of the Hurley community. She will be sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday December 11th from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS. The funeral proceedings will begin at 2:00 pm from the church sanctuary with Dr. Rex Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.
