Betty Jane Mays
Betty Jane Mays, 90, passed peacefully with the love of her daughter and granddaughter by her side on January 24, 2019. Born December 13, 1928 in Durango at the Ochsner Hospital, now known as the Gable House. Betty was a loving, caring woman and was not afraid of hard work. She enjoyed her involvement with the Emblem Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was preceded in death by her late husband Sherman Mays and her son, Mike Mays. Betty is survived by her daughter Carol Schilthuis (Denney), her granddaughter Megan Kunch (Tim) and her great-grandson Dax Kunch. Her family is planning a private service in the Spring. Her family wishes to thank the caring staff at Cottonwood Inn.
