Anona D. Bennett Mechanicsburg, PA - Anona D. (McBride) Bennett, 63, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Manor Care, Camp Hill. She was the wife of Douglas W. Bennett with whom they celebrated 15 years of marriage on May 10, 2018. Mrs. Bennett was born in Pennsauken, New Jersey on Thursday, November 3, 1955, daughter of the late, Hugh and Letiticia (Steward) McBride. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door, York and the "WINGS" Winners in God's Sight. In addition to her husband, survivors include, two sisters, Darlene Cookson of New Jersey and Mary Rose of Minn., brother-in-law, Bruce Burns of York, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Lois Burns. Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York. There will be a visitation Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Burial will be private. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York, PA 17408 or to the American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
