Mr. Allen Bradley Coward, 87, died Friday, August 24, 2018. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, Vanceboro, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Dixon and Rev. Chris Elks, Jr. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3:15 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Coward, son of the late John and Viola Smith Coward, was a native of Craven County. He was employed with NC Chemical in Bridgeton for a number of years, prior to early retirement due to disability. He was a member of Covenant of God Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Coward was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Lee Coward, and daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Stevie Ipock. He is survived by:son, John Allen Coward and wife, Nancy; daughter, Sandra Elks and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Chris Elks, Jr. and wife, Nicole, Randle Allen Elks, Tracy Allen Coward, all of Vanceboro, and Kim Ipock Tyree and husband, Jay, of Ernul; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Logan Tyree of Ernul; and Joshua and Ainsley Elks of Vanceboro.
