Albert R. "Vet" Lynch
Albert R. "Vet" Lynch 1937 - 2018 MIDDLEVILLE – Albert R. "Vet" Lynch, 81, a lifelong Middleville and Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2018, following a long illness. His passing occurred with his family at his side at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Little Falls. Mr. Lynch was born on June 22, 1937, in Dolgeville, a son of the late Leon and Elena (Seeley) Lynch. He received his education at West Canada Valley Central Schools. Albert entered the U. S. Army in 1960 and continued to serve in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1966. Vet was united in marriage with the former Betty L. Sheffler on November 26, 1960 at the Middleville United Methodist Church. His working career included employment at E. J. Willis Company, Herkimer County Home, Davis' Sawmill, Middleville Village and as a contractor throughout the years. Vet was a member of American Legion Post #38 in Herkimer. Survivors besides his wife, Betty, include three daughters, Yvette (Joe McCauley) and children, Yvonne and children and April and girls; daughter-in-law, Noreen and children; four brothers and their families, Jim, Harold (Ann), Harry (Jackie) and Norm; three sisters and their families, Gertrude (Frank) Smith, Marjorie Phillips and Rosemary (Francis) Boardman; one aunt, Veronica Richards; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Albert, Jr. and Alfred "Hank" Lynch; one brother, Frank; and by one sister, Ruth Boardman. Calling hours will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport on Thursday, from 2 to 5 p.m. Military honors, conferred by the U. S. Army Honor Guard, followed by a brief Memorial Service, will take place after the visitation.
