Agnes Jo Miller Evansville, IN - Agnes J. "Jo" Miller, 82, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Transcendent Healthcare in Boonville. Jo was born April 18, 1937 in Pontiac, IL the fourth child of Joe and Mabel (Bartlett) Whalen. She was a graduate of Pontiac High School and attended St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN. On June 2, 1956, Jo married Paul A. Miller of South Bend, IN. They lived in New Jersey and LaPorte, IN before settling in Evansville in 1962. Jo worked at Plumbing and Industrial Supply and Erdmann Corporation before joining Mead Johnson Nutritionals in 1979 where she served as a secretary in many different departments before retiring in 2001. She later worked part time at the University of Southern Indiana before retiring for good in May of 2006. Jo enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing bridge, reading and making greeting cards with rubber stamps. Surviving Jo are two daughters, Ann Marie (Lyle) Staab of Hawthorn Woods, IL and Kathi (Mark) Hoyer of St. Louis, MO; two sons, Mike (Patty) Miller of Penfield, NY and Paul A. (Annette) Miller, Jr. of Goodlettsville, TN; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Paul A. Miller, Sr. in 1994; by two sisters, Anne Whalen in 2000 and Mabel Ryerson in 1995 and by a brother, Joseph Whalen in 2006. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Rev. Jason Gries officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 AM until service time on Friday at Holy Redeemer Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Association.
