WONG, William Kwanda March 9, 1922 - April 8, 2017 A wonderful life well lived and so loved by all. William Kwanda Wong passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Born in Vancouver to Man Ming and Gung Lai Wong, Bill was a generous and kind-hearted friend to everyone throughout his life. He is survived by his beloved wife Zoe of 66 years and children Steven, Glenna (Don), Susan (Angie), Peter (Opal) and grandchildren Karen and Michael. He was the eldest of ten siblings to Jack (Evelyn), Allan, Helen, Anna, May, Irene (Lincoln), Milton (Fei), Maurice (Jane) and Carol. Uncle Bill was also loved by his many nephews, nieces and extended family. Bill graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1948 at UBC. With his brother Jack they dedicated their lives to the family business at Modernize Tailors in Chinatown. He enjoyed working six days a week and was still working two days before his passing. His final measurement was for custom-made pants for baby Elliot, the newest member of the Wong family. Bill also showed his love to Zoe by sewing a heart on each pair of her new slacks. He was a thinker and problem solver who enjoyed playing bridge, golf, jogging, racquetball, drawing, art galleries and museums, architecture and design, gardening, SunDo and family travels around the world. Special thanks to the dedicated staff at Legacy Senior Living. A Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chinatown Project, care of the Chinese Cultural Centre - www.cccvan.com . This reflects Bill's love of Chinatown and the cultural heritage that's been a constant throughout his life.
