PAWLUST, Walter May 11, 1930 – Abernathy, Saskatchewan October 12, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Walter Pawlust, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Walter was born in Abernathy, Saskatchewan in 1930. He grew up on a farm near Ituna, Saskatchewan and moved to Calgary in 1955, where he started a career with Domtar Wood Preserving Division, from which he retired in 1989. In 1956, Walter married the love of his life, Nora (Fertash) and they spent over 56 years of marriage together, until Nora's sudden passing in January of this year. Walter will be forever remembered for his kindness and generosity which were always accompanied with a bright, warm and welcoming smile. He also had a playful sense of humor, which he shared with everyone right up until his final days. Walter is survived by his three children Darcy and Cheryl-Lynne Pawlust, Maureen and Darren Cherban, and Darrin and Tina Pawlust; his three grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored, Brittany and Justin Cherban, and Tristan Pawlust; his sister Mary Bulycz; and his brother John Pawlust; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his loving wife Nora; parents John and Eva Pawlust; as well as his brother Mike Pawlust. The family would like to thank the staff at the Foothills Hospital (McCaig Tower – 6th Floor) and all of the amazing people at the Covenant Care Dulcina Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Walter over the past few months.
