LEE, Verilyn Verna Musician and piano teacher, died peacefully on October 11, 2016 at Nelson Jubilee Manor. Born in Nanaimo on February 12,1934, to Verna and Arvo Mackie. Verilyn is survived by daughter, Catherine D. Lee and sister, Dorothy (Alistair)Fraser, niece, Cynthia, nephew Alistair (Susi) and great-nephew, Finn, as well as many cousins. Over the years, with her ARCT(Solo Performer's), she taught countless piano students in Nanaimo, Vancouver and Surrey and prepared them for exams. She accompanied choirs and many concert singers, played hymns at church, was a clarinetist and pianist for the Nanaimo Symphony, completed her BA (UBC) in voice and piano with Dr. Morris, Frances Adaskin and Robert Rogers, and was a certified Back to Basics Specialist.
