MILLER, Vera Merle Vera Merle Miller was born May 9, 1923 on the family farm at Keppel, Saskatchewan, a second daughter for Mearl and Sam Kerr. She attended High School in Perdue and Robertson Business School in Saskatoon. Her first job was bookkeeper for Singer Sewing Centre. One year later, she became receptionist and bookkeeper for Dr. W.D. McPhail. She loved that job, only leaving when she married Gordon Miller on July 9, 1947 and moved from Saskatoon to Chaplin, SK. Together they raised two daughters, a son, and a grandson: Sharyn, Judi, Rodney, and Gordon Sean. She was predeceased by her spouse Gordon, son Rodney and many other cherished family members and friends. She was an active community member and known for her cooking expertise, especially her Saskatoon pies... making a record 99 in one day! She was much loved and her warm smile and generous hugs will be missed by all that knew her. She delighted in her 5 grandchildren and her 12 great- grandchildren and kept a toy box in her suite, so that she could watch them play and was often found on the floor playing alongside them.
