In memory of
Suzanne Meikle October 25, 1920 - September 29, 2016 Suzanne passed away peacefully with family by her side, just short of her 96th birthday. She was born in Fontainebleau, France. For many years, she managed the Barbizon School Museum and Gallery. In 1962 she married Tom, a Canadian, who had been principal of Lycée Internationale de Fontainebleau. They settled in Vancouver's West End and lived in Vancouver for the rest of their lives. She was actively involved in the French speaking group of volunteer guides at Van Dusen Botanical Gardens. Tante Suzanne was well loved for her French cooking, spectacular dinner parties, and celebration of milestones for each and every family member. They will remember her as a trusted friend and confidant whose warm humour, delivered with panache, enlivened their lives. Suzanne was predeceased by her husband, Tom and son, Daniel. She is survived by her daughter, Michèle, son-in-law, Patrice, daughter-in-law, Danielle, sisters-in-law, Maureen, Bunny, Lois, Margaret, brother-in-law, Charlie, grandchildren Guillaume, Julien, Raphael, and their families, and her nephews and nieces - Heather, Drew, Bruce, Alan, Bill, Lori, Andy, Kimo, Rona, and Karen, and her good friends Rita and Dennis Araki, and George and Danielle Diard. At Suzanne's request there will be no service. Instead, toast her with champagne and share some chocolate.
