Steve Lazar Sr.
Steve Lazar Sr., age 79 years, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Steve was born on December 15, 1937 in Slovenia (Yugoslavia), and settled in Fort William, Ontario in 1956. Living in the Westfort area, his first job was with CN Railroad and later worked at Great Lakes Paper Mill. The rest of his years were spent working with the Laborers Union of North America. He worked many jobs there in construction, and then spent many years working on the Trans Canada Pipeline. He was a dedicated, hard worker and was liked and admired by many of his peers. Steve loved to spend his spare time camping and fishing with his sons Steve and Kevin. After retirement he spent a lot of time doing the same with daughter-in law Tammy and his grandchildren. Steve will be sadly missed by his son Steve (Tammy); his grandchildren Ashleigh, Jade, Jasmine and Branden (sister Brittaney) and his other son Kevin (daughter Samantha). A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
