HOPE-ROSS, Sandra Lynn (nee Imrie) April 21, 1948 – Flin Flon, MB October 15, 2016 – Calgary, AB Sandra Hope-Ross went to rejoin her mom, Helen, dad, Bert, and brothers, Bob and Brian ("Coonie") on the evening of October 15, 2016. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones. Sandra is survived by her immediate family: daughter Alicia, her husband, Jim, Jim's sons Jeff, Sean, and Will and their significant others. Other surviving relatives include her mother- in-law, Roxy Hope-Ross, her sister-in-law Janice Imrie and her beloved Imrie family, and Jim's brother John, sister Lindsay, and their families. Sandra was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Although the Imrie home was just across the border, in Creighton, Saskatchewan, Sandra always insisted that she was from Flin Flon. Sandra was "Sandi" to everyone in Flin Flon. With her Natalie Wood looks, caring and compassionate nature, and joie de vivre, Sandi created lasting friendships from her childhood and her teen years that endured throughout her lifetime. These qualities continued when she moved to Calgary in the early '70s. Sandra valued relationships, new and old, above all else. Although she treated Jim's boys as her own, unquestionably the highlight of her life was the birth of Alicia. Her devotion to motherhood was unmatched. Although Alicia held a special, coveted spot in her heart, Sandra became the surrogate mom of every kid in the neighbourhood. That is the way she should be remembered. A special mention and "thank you" is extended to nurse Lloyd at Unit 94 at the Rockyview Hospital. His gentle care for Sandra was excellent and his attention and empathy toward our family was unbelievable. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2 Telephone: 1 (888) 566 – 5864. www.ab.lung.ca .
