ROBERT BRIAN STEWART The Toronto-born photographer, filmmaker and environmental activist was 37 when he was tragically taken from us in a dive accident on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the waters off the Florida Keys, while filming his new movie, Sharkwater: Extinction. Rob was born on December 28, 1979. He attended Crescent School, Lawrence Park Collegiate and graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Western Ontario. Rob was the beloved son of Sandra and Brian Stewart and brother of Alexandra Stewart with husband Roger Rudisuli and their children Oliver and Edward. He will be missed by his uncle Randy Stewart (Gail) and their daughters Lindsay and her children Chase and West, and Brittney (Tyler). He will be missed by his uncle Colin Campbell (Connie) and his aunt Catherine Campbell (Jim Kendall) with their children Doug, Barbara, Margaret and Graham. He will be missed by his aunt Heather Cederqvist (Heikki) with their children Galen (Jamie) with Shayne and Evelyn Axworthy, Melissa and Maryanne. Rob loved animals from a young age and was an avid diver with thousands of dives to his credit. Rob's first film "Sharkwater" was seen by 125 million people worldwide, won more than 50 awards and changed laws and public opinion about sharks and shark finning around the world. His second film "Revolution" continued his mission to save the oceans and the creatures that inhabit them, also garnering numerous awards. Rob was in the process of shooting his next movie "Sharkwater – Extinction" filming sawfish sharks in Florida. This follow up film addresses not just shark finning, but the use of shark products in cosmetics, food products and pet foods as well. Rob is the author of "Sharkwater" and "Save the Humans."
