Raymond Wilson
Raymond William Wilson, age 94 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital, Hospice Unit, on October 13, 2016 with family by his side. Born in Fort Frances, Ontario on February 13, 1922, he came to Port Arthur in 1946. Ray served overseas with the Canadian Forestry Corps during World War II. A member of Port Arthur Branch #5 Royal Canadian Legion, Ray was employed by Vulcan Machinery for 17 years until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed the outdoors, all sports and particularly his camp at Obonga Lake. Ray will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 2 sons Jack and David (Wendy); 3 grandchildren Jennifer, Jeff and Jon; 4 great grandchildren Spencer and Emmerson, both of London, ON, and Bryar and Emma, of Thunder Bay. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian Ida in 2008, parents, 6 sisters and 3 brothers. According to Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
