KHULLAR, Pritam 1925 - 2017 Pritam Khullar (nee Chawla), 91 years old, died peacefully on January 7, 2017. She is survived by her three daughters, Maien, Renu, and Ritu (Rob); five grandsons, Aaron, Evan, Devanand, Samir and Nikhil; brother, Swarn; sisters, Kamla and Vimla. She was predeceased by her husband, Jeet (Jitendra) in 1987; brothers, Khazan, Mohinder, and Inderjit; and her sister, Shukantla. Born in India, Pritam, an elementary school teacher, immigrated to Alberta in 1961 with Jeet, also a teacher. She taught in various schools in northern Alberta. She was most passionate about and proud of bringing drama in the form of radio plays to her young students, and seeing the students flourish with this instructional approach. In 1989, she retired to Edmonton and enjoyed travelling, going to the Strathcona Farmers Market, walking in the river valley with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Thank you to her caregiver and friend for over 7 years, Christine L., the staff at Rosedale Estates, and the staff at Unit 10Y at the General Hospital, for their care, kindness and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held at Connelly- McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta or the Cross Cancer Institute.
