In memory of
Pearl Hodgins, age 95, passed away peacefully at home, Hogarth Riverview Manor, Monday, February 13, 2017 with her girls by her side. Pearl was born in Port Arthur November 5, 1921 to John and Elizabeth Tavender and lived in Conmee Twp. As a young girl Pearl moved and was educated in Windsor where she then married Bill Hodgins and they raised their four children. Pearl, Bill and family moved back to Port Arthur where Pearl graduated as an R.N.A. in 1962, then worked at the P.A.G.H., until she retired in 1985. Pearl was a dedicated member of Current River United Church even after moving to Oliver Lake after Bill passed away. She followed her dreams at age 75 and moved to Duncan BC to grow a year-round rose garden (what a green thumb she had), moving back to Thunder Bay in 2001. Pearl was very artistic; she painted, taught ceramics, was an excellent seamstress, provided us all with great baking and volunteered to help the needy. Pearl is survived by her sons: Garry (Catherine), David (Doreen), daughters: Julia (Ken) Trevisanutto, Sandra (Myles) Jager, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and her special friend, Margaret. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Bill, one grandchild Steven Hodgins, her parents, her sister Mae and brother Johnny, aunts, uncles & various cousins. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Current River United Church, 333 Morse St. Interment will be held at a later date. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the local Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
