HAVRELOCK, Patricia Margaret (nee Hosford) September 27, 1932 – Edmonton, AB October 13, 2016 – Calgary, AB Patricia Margaret Havrelock passed away peacefully at Dulcina Hospice on October 13, 2016. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband of 57 years Dennis and their three children Darren, Colleen Saltys (Jim), and Jill Ferronato (Tony) and 6 wonderful grandchildren Reece and Jadyn, Mitchell and Spencer, Alexandra and Julianna. Patricia was predeceased by her parents Wesley and Alice Hosford (Daly), two sisters Doreen Herlihy and Violet Hosford and brother Bill Hosford. Patricia was born in the Salisbury District to Irish parents who homesteaded and operated a Holstein dairy farm near Edmonton. She attended Colchester, Strathcona and Garneau schools and graduated from McTavish Business College and was employed for several years as a stenographer for Deloitte Plender chartered accountants. Patricia loved music and started playing piano at age three and became a well-known vocalist. She performed lead roles in the Edmonton Light Opera at Vic Composite and several church musicals. She was also a choir director and choir member for over 50 years at United churches in both Edmonton and Calgary. When Dennis transferred to Calgary in 1974 with CWNG (ATCO) the family became active members of the Calgary Winter Club where she helped organize the Tuesday night mixed bowling league and where she made many friends. She enjoyed volunteering with Kiwanis, especially the annual Music Festival. She led a disciplined life that reflected her belief in God, in honesty and being loyal. She had abounding love and devotion to her family and leaves a remarkable legacy. Private Celebrations Of Life will be held in November in both Calgary and Edmonton. Her ashes will be laid to rest at South Haven Cemetery located on her family homestead. Patricia's family would like to extend gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Gooderham and the nurses and staff in Unit 32 at the Foothills Hospital and Dulcina Hospice for their incredible 'angel like' devotion and loving care during her brief stay. In living memory, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Park next September.
