DALTON, Patricia "Pat" Jane (nee Campbell) May 10, 1927 – St. John's, Newfoundland January 5, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta On January 5, 2017 a beautiful soul moved from this world to the next. Our kind and gentle mother and grandmother passed away in her sleep in her own bed, just as she had wished. She was universally viewed as a true lady. Pat had been a stay at home mother, happily following her husband in his many business ventures from Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Belleville, always making new friends while staying in touch with their old pals. No one understood how two multi-generational Newfoundlanders who left St. John's as soon as they were married in 1950 would have such wanderlust. They had a joyous first 10 years of retirement on the Pacific Ocean at Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island where the grandchildren loved to visit, with picnic day trips in their boat and fires on the beach in the evenings. In their final dozen years, Pat and Eric moved to Calgary where they enjoyed many excursions into our beautiful mountains and the wineries in the Okanagan. Pat is survived by two children, Geoff and Sharon; her son-in-law, Cal Davis; her three grandchildren, Bradford, Alissa and Rachele. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Eric in 2014; her daughter Deborah; her grandson Dane; her brother Jim Campbell, sister-in-law Dallas Strange; son-in-law Erik Gunderson; and her nephew and two nieces, Greg and Lynn Campbell and Karen Kennedy. Special loving mention to other surviving family members including Margie and Ed Miller, Jeanne and Malcolm Matusky, Janice Barto and Annie and Max Davis. A Celebration of Pat's Life with family and friends will happen at Sharon's home on or about Pat's 90th birthday. Thank you to all for the lovely condolences we have already received. In living memory of Patricia Dalton, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
