Norman William Jantzen April 10, 1929 – April 11, 2017 Norman William Jantzen went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Norm leaves behind Mary, wife of 66 years, children Larry, Byron (Rhonda), Kathy (Terry), Val, many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers, extended family and friends. Norm was predeceased by brother Clarence and son Richard. Norm was born April 10, 1929 to John and Sarah Jantzen and grew up near Waldheim, Saskatchewan. In 1948 at age 17, Norm was challenged by a sermon committing his life to the Lord and his faith was always central to his life. Norm graduated from high school in 1947, went to Bethany Bible College where he met Mary, the love of his life and married on October 13, 1950. He enjoyed a long and rewarding teaching career in Dalmeny, Melfort and Saskatoon and retired in 1984. He then sold real estate for a number of years but left for full-time retirement in 2000. Norm will be remembered as a strong, kind, selfless man with a gentle spirit and servant heart. He treasured his time with his family including road trip vacations, horseback riding, family gatherings and cottages at Brightsands and Anglin Lake. Norm devoted time to many organizations including Gideons, Redberry Bible Camp, IVCF and other missional organizations but he was always committed to providing leadership and service to his local church. He impacted many people in his life and some international students still consider him their second dad. He leaves us a strong spiritual legacy and will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A Celebration of Norm's Life is planned at Forest Grove Community Church, 502 Webster Street, Saskatoon, SK, on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to Stefan Funk at Dalmeny Funeral Home (3036-254-2022) and for condolences please go to www.dalmenyfuneralhome.ca .
