Maxine Margaret STONE
STONE, Maxine Margaret October 20, 1921 – October 9, 2016 Maxine Margaret Stone (née Haley) passed away on October 9, 2016 at Norwood Hospice in Edmonton. Maxine was born in the city of Edmonton in 1921 to David and Sarah Jane Haley. She spent 94 wonderful years of life in Edmonton, except for a brief time at RCAF Station Dafoe with her husband, Robert Leslie Stone, after their marriage in 1943. Maxine loved her community and helped to establish the South East Edmonton Seniors Association (SEESA) in the late 1970s. She was a lifetime member of SEESA and a regular fixture in the building. She loved quilting, crafting, and socializing with her friends over tea. Above all, Maxine adored spending time with her loud and loving family. Maxine will forever be remembered by her two daughters, Janie Mack and Doreen Anderson (Zoly Koles) and four granddaughters, Heather Mack, Wendy (Chris) Keller, Jennifer Matthews and Robyn (Stacey) Anderson. Maxine's legacy also includes three great-grandchildren, Michael Keller, Isabelle and Stephanie Matthews. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her brother, Jack Haley. If so desired, donations may be made to the South East Edmonton Seniors Association (SEESA) or to a charity of your choice. A celebration of Maxine's life will take place at SEESA in November. You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived.
