HUTTON, Leroy February 6, 1931 – Lethbridge, Alberta April 14, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Leroy Cecil Rowell Hutton passed away peacefully on April 14, 2017 at the age of 86 years old with his three daughters and best friend/partner by his side. Lee was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on February 6, 1931. He began his career at the City of Calgary, where he would spend the next 36 years working in the payroll department. Dad was lucky enough to retire at the young age of 55. He developed friendships with work colleagues over the years and kept his special friends close by. Early spring and summer mornings, you could always find dad at Shaganappi Golf Course with his favourite golf buddies. Dad spent winters hanging out, watching sports, and enjoying road trips. During his last days dad reflected on his train trip with Joyce to Ontario and a family trip to Scotland in 2002. Father's Day weekend, was one that we would look forward to every year: crazy times, lots of laughs, good food, good golfing, great music and lots of dancing. Dad loved to dance; he slowed down a bit as the years went by, but we were able to get him up again attempting the "jive" at 83 years old. That was quite the "feat" in itself, but that smile and twinkle in his eye were still there. In true stubborn form, Lee fought for his breath and kept his sharp wit until the very last minute. It was a blessing to have had the chance to discover a soft heart underneath his tough exterior, and comforting to know he left surrounded by love. Lee is survived by his loving partner Joyce Lunn and his three daughters, Lee (Murray and their three children, Brett, Cole and Kellie), Traci (Barry) and Kory, all of Calgary. There will be no funeral service held at Lee's request, but there will be a Celebration of Lee's Life at the # 284 Legion (606 38th Avenue NE) on Thursday, May 4, between 1 and 5 p.m. This is an open invitation to whoever was lucky enough to know our dad… come have a drink or just a visit in his memory if you can. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . In living memory of Lee Hutton, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
